Toshiba Thrive 10 General Discussion / Re: Thrive Specs?
« on: June 08, 2011, 10:37:45 pm »
The following are the Full Specs and Features of the Toshiba Thrive Android Tablet:

- Size

While we all eagerly await the launch of Toshiba's Thrive tablet we thought we'd do a piece on the accompanying apps that Toshiba has announced along with the Thrive.  We've already made mention of how the Thrive differentiates itself from the competition by including full size ports thereby emphasizing ease of use for the customer.  But this attention to ease of use also extends to three key pieces of software that Toshiba is bundling onto the Toshiba.  Let's be very clear that the Thrive will come with stock Honeycomb 3.1 without any kind of overlay.  These three apps are strictly designed to make it easier for the buyer to facilitate the Thrive's use with the outside world.

1. Toshiba File Manager: Works seamlessly with the full size USB and micro usb...your enable easy searching and moving of files.  Hands down the best implentation I've seen on a Honeycomb tablet so far for file management.

2. Media App:  This application makes it a breeze to access all your media content from one place.  Music, movies and photos all at a click and no need to launch different applications or search through your thrive.

3. Resolution+:  The Resolution Plus software makes quick work of dynamically upscaling your standard videos to high resolution with remarkable clarity and ease even tweaking color balance and contrast for best effect.  Video watching on the Thrive is a dream.

There's other software pre-loaded as well including Quick Office, Need For Speed, Book Place, PrinterShare, Swype and LogMeIn but the three above are certainly most useful.  So what do you think?  Anything they left out on the software front you'd like to see?  Let us know in the comments.

Toshiba has implemented a lot of unique features into the Toshiba Thrive tablet.  Which is your favorite?

Hands-on: Toshiba Thrive Android tablet - Is it better than the iPad 2?

With all the Android Tegra powered tablets that have hit the market in the past 6 months, it's a challenge for manufacturers to differentiate their product from everyone else's.  As a long-time laptop manufacturer, Toshiba decided to use its knowledge of how consumers use their portable computing devices as its way of setting the Toshiba Thrive apart by concentrating big-time on one theme: Connectivity.  The Thrive features the best selection of ports and connections of any major tablet out there with full-size USB, HDMI and SD Card slots as well as a mini-usb and dock connector.  Not only that but with the user swappable battery and assorted collection of colored backs they let users for the first time offer the ability to both customize your tablet to suit your taste as well as bring along spare power if you're away from the socket for too long.  The video above by intomobile does a good job of showing all this off.  So what do you think?  Has Toshiba come up with the goods?
