I can't figure out how to import music and photos from an SD card or external device. Can this be done?

Probably have to wait for the Android 3.2 update which will give better SD card support.  Should be out in the next couple of weeks if rumors are true.

Yes, it can be done. Make sure ur SD card uses FAT32. Photos: Go to the file manager and click the SD card icon on the upper left hand corner. Select files you want copied.  Click copy. Now touch the internal storage icon; paste. To see your pix , go to apps and select gallery and you're set.  For music, do the same  "from-to" steps using the media player app
